ABOUT US

Latchingdon is a village of around 450 homes, situated in the Dengie Peninsula in Essex, England, South of the City of Chelmsford. The parish was at one time called Latchingdon-cum-Snoreham, and Snoreham Hall still exists to the south of Latchingdon.  
The Parish Council has 7 Parish Councillors, each serving the community voluntarily. The council is also the Sole Trustee of the King George V Playing Field and Village Hall charity.

Your Parish Council main duties include:

  • Allotments

  • Annual Parish Meeting

  • Bus shelters

  • Parish owned land

  • Planning consultee

  • Playing field & village hall (as sole trustee)

  • Precept and related financial matters

  • Street lighting and furniture not owned by Essex County Council

  • Village pond
